mightbewrong asked:

Hey you! I love your anatomical drawings, do you know of a site that has a good collection of references for stuff like that? or has it just been google image search?

Hey!

This is an excellent question! And first off, thank you for the compliment, I’m glad you like my drawings!

I use a lot of different references, though sometimes I use google image search as well for specific things if I can’t find them elsewhere.

The best ones that I have found for image reference are the following:

http://posemaniacs.com - Really awesome 3D model simulator. Great for gesture drawings and warm ups.

http://anatomyrefs.tumblr.com/

and

http://fucktonofanatomyreferencesreborn.tumblr.com/

Honestly, there’s a lot of great resources here on tumblr. There’s definitely a lot of gems if you search around. I’ve also been reading a lot of anatomy books that I’ve rented from my local library. I believe that it’s one thing to learn to draw the anatomy of something, but another to understand how it works, what it’s made up of, and what it does. Reading about it all has helped me better understand the way that muscles and bones move in relation to one another, and it helps me get a better understanding of the figure that i’m drawing.

As far as other things, I tend to resort to google images or personal photographs of my own. :)

I hope this helps!

Sketch of a female portrait. I still don’t understand my obsession with white glowing eyes, but whatever.
